What is the impact on transactions during holidays?
The Federal Reserve pauses ACH transactions on federal holidays, which may delay payments like direct deposits and government benefits by one business day.
Transactions that may need additional time to process include:
Dave Checking account
- Direct deposits, such as paychecks or government deposits
- Bank-to-bank transfers in or out of your Dave Checking account
ExtraCashâ„¢ account
- Bank-to-bank transfers out of your Dave ExtraCashâ„¢ account
- ExtraCashâ„¢ advance transfers to your external bank. To receive your funds quicker, we encourage you to select a faster transfer method.
- ExtraCashâ„¢ advance settlements from your external bank
How can I prepare for an upcoming holiday?
Bank holidays may cause delays in processing transactions and making deposits available. To prepare for the upcoming holiday:
- Be aware of processing times
- Review any upcoming bills or automatic payments
- Check with your employer on any changes to your payday due to the holiday
What am I still able to do on a holiday?
As a general rule, you can still use your bank account on federal holidays, but since the Federal Reserve is closed, any transactions you make won't post to your account until the next business day.
You can continue to:
- Use your Dave debit card and Dave Checking account
- Withdraw cash at an ATM
- Make a transfer between your Dave accounts
- Instantly withdraw cash to your external debit card
- Take an ExtraCashâ„¢ advance, if eligible
