We’d love to keep you as part of our Dave family as we continue our mission to build products that level the financial playing field, but we understand if you want to end your membership and close your bank accounts.
Please note, deleting the Dave app will not end your membership or close your accounts.
Before closing your account
- Any unsettled balances, like ExtraCash, will need to be settled first
- Make sure you transfer any remaining balances in your Dave accounts to your external account, which could take a few business days. If you close your account before transferring your funds, the remaining balance will be sent to your mailing address on file as a check.
- Make sure to download your tax documents that are available in Settings
Closing your account
Once that's taken care of, you can close your account by going to Settings, then Edit profile, then Close my Dave Account. You'll confirm that you'll close all of your financial accounts with us there.
Remember, closing your Dave account means closing all your financial accounts with us.
Once your account is closed
- You will no longer have access to your Dave accounts
- Your external bank account and debit card(s) will be disconnected
- Your Dave Debit Cards will be canceled. Please shred and properly dispose of your physical debit card.
- You will receive a final monthly bank statement at the beginning of the following month
