Canceling your Dave Membership
You can cancel your paid Dave Membership anytime in the Membership settings to stop the membership fee and all Dave related services at the end of your last paid membership month. You must cancel a minimum of 3 business days before your next subscription fee is charged in order to avoid billing for the subsequent month, as shown in your recurring payment authorization in your Dave app. However, your bank accounts can remain open.
To cancel your Dave membership:
- Go to your Settings
- Scroll down and tap Membership
Remember, canceling your paid Dave Membership means you cannot access all the services in our app.
You must separately close any bank accounts you hold with us. Deleting the app will not end your Dave membership or subscription fee, and will not close your bank accounts.
Closing your bank accounts
Preparing to close your bank accounts
- Make sure you transfer any remaining balances to your external bank account; this can take a few business days.
- If you close your bank account before transferring your funds, the remaining balance will be mailed to your address on file as a check.
- Make sure to download your tax documents from the Dave app, available in your settings, before you close your account.
- Any unsettled balances will need to be settled before your bank account can be closed. However, you can end your paid Dave Membership fee at any time.
How to close your bank accounts
After all balances are settled, you can close your bank accounts through Dave:
- Go to your Settings
- Select Edit profile
- Choose Close my Dave Account
If you want to close individual bank accounts, but do not want to end your relationship with Dave, please chat with our Member Success team by navigating to your settings and selecting Chat.
Important things to remember
- Closing your bank accounts will disconnect all linked external banks and debit cards and you will no longer have access to your Dave bank accounts.
- Any physical Dave debit cards will be canceled. Please shred and properly dispose of your physical debit card.
- A final bank statement will be provided at the start of the following month.
- Remember, closing your bank accounts is a separate process from canceling your Dave membership.
