We’d love to keep you as part of our Dave family as we continue our mission to build products that level the financial playing field, but we understand if you want to close your account.
Please note, deleting the Dave app will not close your Dave account.
Before closing your account
- Any unsettled balances will need to be settled first
- We encourage you to transfer any remaining balances in your Dave Checking or Goals accounts to your external accounts. If there is a remaining balance in these accounts at the time of closure, the remaining funds will be sent to the mailing address on your account via check.
- If you need tax documents or monthly statements, be sure to download them in the Monthly statements section of your app settings before closing your account.
Once you have prepared your account, follow the steps to close your account.
Closing your account
To close your account, open the Dave app and log in:
- Go to settings ⚙️
- Tap Edit profile
- Scroll and tap Close my Dave Account
- Select the reason why you want to close
- Confirm your account closure
Remember, closing your Dave account means closing all your financial accounts with us.
Once your account is closed
- You will no longer have access to your Dave accounts
- Your external bank account and debit card(s) will be disconnected
- Your Dave Debit Cards will be canceled. Please shred and properly dispose your physical debit card.
- You will receive a final monthly bank statement at the beginning of the following month
