When you first join Dave, you'll only be able to initiate transfers from external bank accounts into your Dave spending account.
Transferring funds from a third-party app
To start a transfer from an external app or account, just use your Dave spending routing and account numbers. Tap here to head to the Profile tab and tap Account information and find those.
Transferring funds from within the Dave app
Once thirty (30) days after your first transaction has passed, you'll be able to initiate transfers, in and out, from within your Dave app - tap here to start your transfer.
Wire transfers are currently not accepted to Dave spending accounts, but we hope to bring you more transfer options in the future. If you try to wire transfer money, it will most likely not process and be returned to the account from which it originated.
Just a heads up, transfers made from within the Dave app take up to 5 business days to process and show up in your account.
If you just need the steps to transfer money from within the Dave app:
- Go to the Move Money tab
- Tap Add money to send money into your Dave spending account
OR Tap Send money to an external bank
- Verify the From and To accounts are correct
- Add the amount you’d like to transfer
- Tap Transfer $
In order to cancel a transfer, please visit the pending transactions tab within your app.
