We understand if you need to close your Dave account. Let's make sure your account is ready to be closed.
Any unsettled balances, like in ExtraCash™, will need to be settled first. Then, make sure you transfer your balances to your external account, which could take a few business days. If you close your account before transferring your funds, it'll be sent to your address on file as a check.
Make sure to download your tax documents that are available in Settings.
Once that's taken care of, you can close your account by going to Settings, then Edit profile, then Close my Dave Account. You'll confirm that you'll close all of your financial accounts with us there.
Please note, deleting the Dave app will not close your Dave account.
Remember, closing your Dave account means closing all your financial accounts with us.
Once your account is closed
- You will no longer have access to your Dave accounts
- Your external bank account and debit card(s) will be disconnected
- Your Dave Debit Cards will be canceled. Please shred and properly dispose of your physical debit card.
- You will receive a final monthly bank statement at the beginning of the following month
