The security of your account is our top priority.
Dave will never ask you for your full social security number other than when signing up for Dave. On occasion, we may ask for the last four digits in our app only for verification. We will also never ask for your text message (SMS) or email verification codes, passwords or PINs.
Be cautious if you receive unsolicited emails, phone calls or social media messages prompting you to take action or share sensitive information. All Dave communication will come from @dave.com email address and contain the “Dave” header and footer, along with our disclosures at the bottom.
Here are some helpful tips to protect your account:
Keep an eye out for scams and phishing attempts
If something sounds too good to be true, it likely is. Dave will never ask for your login information or ask you to login on any website.
Scammers will often entice you into clicking on a link on a premise of false winnings and promises of money. Dave will never send you these. To keep your Dave account safe, avoid opening any links you receive via email or text message (SMS).
Dave may occasionally email you product updates or promotions, which will all come from a @dave.com email. Our messages will never ask you for your login information or ask you to log in using a link.
Create a strong password
Use a strong password for your Dave account. If you receive text message (SMS) or email verification codes that you did not request, we recommend changing your password. Check out some tips on how to choose a strong password.
Verification codes
Never share your SMS or email verification codes with anyone else. If someone contacts you asking for it, it is a scam.
Keep an eye out for social media scams
Imposters will often take our branding and Dave bear images to impersonate us. We will never message or DM our members. You can report any impersonators through your social media app.
